Abstract
Current live streaming systems are optimized for low latency or scalability, but not both. This thesis aims to build a low-latency live streaming platform using Media over QUIC Transport (MOQT) that leverages the QUIC protocol to achieve low latency and high scalability and explore the possibilities of performing rate adaptation on the server and client side and how to cache and handle media objects efficiently. The result demonstrates that the system can perform rate adaptation on both the server and client sides and efficiently handle media object caching. Our system verifies the feasibility of building a live streaming platform with low latency, high scalability, and cost-effectiveness using MOQT.
